What is this used for?

  is perfect for adding shimmery metallic Copper accents to your makeup looks! You can use the Artist Pigment powder alone for a sheer shimmer or you can mix it with a mixing liquid like Mehron Mixing Liquid to create a shimmery opaque water resistant color! How do I use this correctly?

To use Artist Pigments, you can load the metallic powder directly from the shaker tray with a clean eyeshadow foam applicator or brush. You can also transfer a small amount to a mixing tray or cup to use dry or to blend with mixing liquid. If applied dry, apply to the skin in layers to get the preferred coverage. Use with mixing liquid for fine line work, or for a water resistant coverage for full face or body paint designs. Product may smudge if not set with a sealer. 

Make sure that this powder is not inhaled. The person applying it and the model should take care when powder is being applied around the eyes, mouth and nose. Since all cosmetic products have the possibility of causing a reaction, especially for those with sensitive skin, Mehron recommends doing a patch test, and advises you to discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.

Use a cape to cover the clients clothing in case of spillage or powder fall out. Load your tool sparingly and gradually build up the makeup coverage to avoid fall out while working.

To remove it, first add liquid soap to your skin (be careful around the eyes and mouth). Work the soap into the makeup until you have loosened all of the pigment, and then use a soft sponge or cloth with water to remove the soap and powder. Do not use water before the soap, or you will have a harder time removing the powders. If, by chance, any powder is left, apply some lotion or skin-safe oil to the area and let it set for a few minutes and then wash again.

You can also use makeup removers like Jest Paint Brush and Body Wash, or an oil based product to break down and wipe away this face paint. Never go to bed without removing your makeup. This powder is hard to remove from fabrics.

To store your Artist Pigments, make sure that the container is dry inside. Wipe pigment residue from the jar threading and tightly screw the lids back on.  Store in a cool and dry place away from direct light sources.

Tips: Store your Artist Pigment jars in their original box or a sealed plastic bag. This will help prevent the lid from unscrewing if jostled in your kit. You do not want to have an accidental metallic explosion, trust me.

What are the characteristics / dimensions of this ?

This is packaged in a plastic jar. The jar is about 2 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/8 inches tall with the lid on. This is a shaker style container that has a removable strainer that helps keep the majority of the powder in the container and avoids messes. The base of the jar is clear and comes with a screw-on black lid. The label says that it contains .05 oz / 4.1 grams of powder. This is a loose powder pigment that can be set with Mehron Mixing liquid to make it smudge proof and more opaque. The product is labeled with a 24 month shelf life. Artist Pigments are made in Chestnut Ridge New York under the strict supervision of the makeup scientists at Mehron, which is a US based cosmetic company. This product may contain globally sourced materials. Once applied, if properly cared for and under the right conditions, it can easily last 3 to 12 hours.

Some pro advice from the Jest Paint team to help you better understand your Artist Pigments: Do not use a damp brush to retrieve powder from the container. Shake powder onto a mixing palette or cup to add water or mixing liquid to moisten the powder. Keep the lid closed while not in use to avoid humidity build up, or dust and debris from entering the container. If your powders get humid from water or moisture in the air, you can try drying them out by placing silica packets and the open jar in an air tight container for a day or two.

Para usar puedes tomar el polvo metálico directamente de la bandeja dosificadora con un aplicador de esponja para sombras o una brocha limpia. También puedes pasar una pequeña cantidad a una paleta o recipiente para usarlo en seco o mezclarlo con un líquido mezclador. Como cualquier producto cosmético puede causar alguna reacción, especialmente en pieles sensibles, Mehron Makeup recomienda hacer una prueba de parche y suspender su uso si se presenta irritación en la piel. Asegúrate de no inhalar este polvo. Tanto quien lo aplica como la persona modelada deben tener cuidado cuando se aplique alrededor de los ojos, la boca y la nariz. Usa una capa para cubrir la ropa del cliente en caso de derrames o caída de polvo. Carga tu herramienta con poca cantidad y ve construyendo la cobertura poco a poco para evitar que el polvo se caiga mientras trabajas.

Para removerla, primero aplica jabón líquido sobre tu rostro o área pintada (ten cuidado alrededor de los ojos y la boca). Trabaja el jabón sobre la maquillaje hasta que se haya aflojado todo el pigmento, y luego usa una esponja o paño suave con agua para retirar el jabón y el polvo. No uses agua antes del jabón, o te resultará más difícil quitar los Artist Pigments.
