There are several kinds of liquid face and body paints and each one is designed for a specific purpose based on the formula. We have water-based, acrylates-based, and alcohol and castor oil-based formulas.
The water-based formulas are very thin and easy to apply with a brush or sponge and they are easy to remove. Acrylate-based formulas are a bit thicker and more sweat and friction-proof as well as water-resistant than water-based formulas.
The alcohol and castor oil-based paints are the ones designed to be very water and sweat resistant and they are the top choice for things like temporary tattoos and pool party makeup.
Liquid face paints can be applied with a regular face painting sponge and brush or using an airbrush (depending on the consistency of the product). Some liquid makeup can be thinned out with distilled water or a thinning medium to be able to push them through an airbrush.
