Additional Info from Manufacturer:
Neon colors are made with pigments that have not been approved by the USA Cosmetic Regulator to be used in cosmetics (the agency has not tested them yet for cosmetic use). According to the manufacturer they have been independently tested and determined safe for cosmetic use by independent labs and by other government agencies in different countries. Following the regulator’s guidelines, they are labeled as a Special FX Product - Prosthetic Paint (for professional use only) - Not a Cosmetic Product. Apply product to prosthetic appliances, bald caps, clothing, etc. This applies ONLY to the UV/Neon pigments in this product and not to the rest of the pigments, and ONLY in the USA and some parts of Europe.
Keep in mind that this also applies to natural henna and permanent tattoo inks, as the FDA has not tested those either for skin application. The FDA is aware of the use of these pigments on skin and has yet to determine them to be a priority for testing, which usually means they are not heavily concerned about them. In general, FDA does recommend that reds (this includes yellows and oranges) and blues (this includes greens and purples) as well as neon colors should not be used around the eye and lip area or left on the skin too long. The shelf life for Kraze FX face paints is 12 months once the container has been opened. If the container has not been opened and the paint has been kept dry, it can still be used 5-8 years after production.
