What are Pixie Paints best for and what can I apply Lucky Star Pixie Paint on top of?
Lucky Star is a perfect gold blend of glitters for fancy designs! Pixie Paints are chunky polyester glitters in a aloe vera gel base, perfect for putting on top of skin, hair, cream, alcohol or powder based face paint. This aloe base can activate water based face paints. I leave my lids loose for a few days to dry up the base to make it less watery so that I can use it on top of face paint. You can always add distilled water or more aloe gel if they ever gets too dry. Check out the Amerikan Body Art Glitter Cremes if you want something ready to use on top of water based face paint. The Glitter Creme's waxy base does not activate face paint like the Aloe base does. Since some of these glitters are larger than normal, we suggest to please use with care, and avoid using around the immediate eye area or on children who may rub the glitter into their eyes.
How do I apply Pixie Paints?
You can use a silicone or plastic spatula applicator, the end of you paint brushes, a rake brush, a filbert brush or flat brush to apply it on the skin or hair. I use silicone applicators to apply it to the skin because then I can adjust the glitter around the design just where I want it and it is less messy than brush with bristles. If you avoid rubbing the the Pixie Paint you will experience very little fall out. Pixie Paints are easy to wash off at the end of the day. You can scrape most of the glitter off with a card to throw in the trash to keep it out of the water system. Wash the remaining base off with soap and water.

Like any cosmetic item, some people may have a sensitivity to the aloe base or glitter, so a test patch is recommended. Avoid use on very small children if there is a danger of them rubbing the glitter into their eyes. Pixie Paint can look sheer or provide moderate to heavy glitter coverage, depending on how you apply it. If you want more solid glitter coverage, you can apply Pixie Paint, and while the gel is still wet, dab on additional loose glitters.
