How do I use this correctly?

To use  follow these easy steps. Depending on how well it is cared for, a glitter tattoo or Festival Ink tattoo can last approximately 1–7 days. To help it last a long time, avoid excessive friction, hot tubs, chlorine, and soap.

To apply Glitter Tattoos, gently wash the area of skin with soap and water and allow it to dry completely. If lotion or oils have recently been applied, clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Choose a smooth area with little to no body hair. Peel off the white paper backing and carefully apply the stencil to the skin, making sure there are no gaps or air bubbles. Rub the stencil firmly onto the skin, then slowly peel away the clear top layer, being careful to keep any small floating pieces in place.

Next, apply a thin layer of cosmetic-grade body glue to the open areas of the stencil and allow it to dry until it becomes clear and tacky. Carefully remove the stencil without disturbing the glue. Using one of the application brushes, gently apply a thin layer of glitter over the glued area. You can use one glitter color or combine multiple colors, keeping in mind that using more colors will take longer to apply. Brush the excess glitter into a tray and admire your new sparkly temporary tattoo!

To remove Glitter Tattoos, soak a swab with rubbing alcohol and press it into the design for a couple of minutes and then gently rub away the glitter and glue. You can also use a warm compress and some oil to loosen it from the skin. Avoid rinsing any type of glitter down the drain. Keep glitter tattoos away from your eyes.

To apply Festival Ink Tattoos, use the same technique above with the three layer stencil, but omit the glitter for a matte tattoo. You can apply glitter on Festival Ink, but since it isn't as flexible and sticky like the glue, the glitter might chip off if rubbed taking some ink with it.

To remove Festival Ink Tattoos, soak a swab with rubbing alcohol and press it into the design for a couple of minutes and then gently rub away the ink. You can also use a warm compress and some oil to loosen it from the skin.

To store this kit, keep the glue and other products tightly closed and store the kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is especially important to protect the glue from freezing, as exposure to low temperatures can cause it to freeze and become ineffective. Since this kit contains flammable Festival INK, keep it away from heat, flames, sparks, and other sources of ignition. Make sure all bottles and containers are securely closed before storing or transporting the kit.

Tips: Place in a secure area where glitter will not be rolling around in your kit during transport to avoid the caps popping off and risking spillage.

This contains cosmetic-grade polyester glitter, adhesive stencils, and professional body glue designed for use on the skin. Art Factory describes its body glue as skin-safe and hypoallergenic, and the glitter is made to cosmetic-grade standards. However, as with any cosmetic product, individual sensitivities and allergic reactions are possible, so we recommend testing a small amount on the skin before use, especially on sensitive skin.

Keep the glitter and glue away from the immediate eye area, and discontinue use if irritation or a reaction occurs.

The products in this kit should not be described as universally FDA, EU, UK, or Canadian “registered,” as cosmetic products are generally regulated differently in each region and we do not have documentation confirming registration of the complete kit in all of these markets. Glitter sits in what some might consider a regulatory gray area. The FDA. U.S. law only allows color additives that are specifically listed in FDA regulations, and glitter is not on that list. Because most glitter is made from PET plastic with metallic or pigment coatings, it counts as a “composite pigment,” which would need its own FDA approval — but it has not been approved as of the moment this was written. Some industry sources say the FDA has informally allowed products containing glitter to enter the U.S. while it reviews submitted data. This is often described as the FDA using “enforcement discretion,” meaning the agency is choosing not to actively enforce the rules for now — not that it has issued any official permit or authorization. There is no official FDA statement to that matter, but industry experience shows that FDA has continued to clear glitter containing products for entrance into the USA without any issues as of right now.

In the EU, Regulation (EU) 2023/2055 (Entry 78 of Annex XVII to REACH) applies to solid, organic, insoluble, non-biodegradable polymer particles — a definition that covers most conventional plastic glitter. This regulation establishes several deadlines depending on the specific product that contains glitter. For Make-up (like the glitter creams): the transition period is until October 17th 2035, with mandatory special labeling from October 17th 2031 until October 16th 2035 if they still contain microplastics. Some “biodegradable” glitters are allowed only if they meet the strict legal definition, but the glitter used on these products is not biodegradable, it is polyester based. We have not found evidence of specific regulations in Canada and the UK.
