What is this used for?

is a blacklight reactive SFX paint! You can use this neon/uv orange SFX paint on your next Halloween Costume, or for birthday parties, fundraising, carnivals, corporate events, or simply at home to have fun on your own or with your kids painting fun designs. Mehron's Paradise SFX Paint is great for creating smooth bases and seamlessly blending colors with its professional-quality, glycerin-based formula! Paradise Neon/UV Supernova is an excellent choice for hot flames, and vibrant sports team or Halloween designs. It has a bold neon orange look under regular light, but intensifies dramatically under black light! See the attached images above to compare it under regular light and black light.

PLEASE NOTE: Colors under black lights will be different depending on the type of black light. They will not look the same as they do under regular lights. See the images provided above to see the potential that they have to appear as many different shades.

How do I use this correctly?

To use add water to your brush or sponge and then load the paint onto your tool, rather than spraying the paints with water. Sweep your sponge or brush across the cake until you have created a light, creamy paste. You want the paint to be fully loaded, but not drippy. Sponging on will give you the smoothest base. Neon colors are not as opaque as regular matte or pearl paints, so you may have to apply a few layers to get a solid coverage under regular light. You will not need a very solid coverage for it to glow under black light.

To remove it, first add liquid soap to your painted surface. Work the soap into the paint until you have loosened all of the pigment, and then use a soft sponge or cloth with water to remove the soap and paint. Do not use water before the soap, or you will have a harder time removing the SFX paint. If, by chance, any stains are left, apply some lotion or oil to the stained area for a few minutes and then wash again.

To store your SFX paints make sure that they are dry. Once they are fully dry then put the lids back on and store them in a cool and dry place away from direct light sources.

Tips: make sure to never leave your SFX paints inside a hot car, under the sun or by a window; this can melt them and ruin them.

What are the characteristics / dimensions of this ?

This is labeled as a 40-gram face paint container. It is 2 10/16 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches tall. It comes as a solid cake that is activated with water. The container is black with a screw-on lid that has a clear window on top of it, and it is made of plastic. This face paint is resistant to low-level friction and some sweat, but it is not sweat-proof, and if rubbed with enough strength it will smear or transfer. Mehron's Paradise Makeup AQ SFX Paints are creamier than other brands since they are glycerin-based, so you may need more water than with wax-based face paints. This color is Neon/UV, so it will appear matte when dry under regular lighting, and will glow under black light when dry. The shelf life is 24 months, and it is manufactured by Mehron in the United States using high-quality ingredients. Once applied, if properly cared for and under the right weather conditions, it can easily last 3 to 12 hours. Some pro advice from the Jest Paint team to help you better understand your paints: because they are made with some natural ingredients, it’s normal for SFX paints—regardless of brand or base—to respond to their environment. You may notice cracks, slight shrinkage that can cause the paint to lift from its container, or some ingredient separation that appears as a small amount of liquid on the surface or edges of the cake. These natural characteristics do not affect performance. Simply adding a bit of water while activating the paint with your sponge or brush, gradually smooths cracks, and reincorporates separated ingredients for perfect application. If the paint has lifted from the container, a few drops of water at the bottom of the cake and gentle pressure against the container will usually restore it.

Also, because SFX paints are made with a variety of pigments and produced under different environmental conditions, it’s natural for their consistency to vary slightly between colors and batches. Some paints may feel firmer, softer, or more clay-like depending on the specific batch and color. This is completely normal and part of the unique character of professional face paints.

Keep in mind that most brands design their products to perform best when used directly from their original containers. Since they aren’t intended to be re-potted or cut into, manufacturers can’t ensure a specific texture for that purpose. When stored properly and used as intended, your paints should perform beautifully and deliver the vibrant results you expect every time.
